Google Search Console is free, authoritative, and massively underused. These are the reports that reveal exactly why your pages rank or don't rank for target keywords.
Google Search Console (GSC) is Google directly telling you how it sees your website — which pages it crawls, which it indexes, what keywords they rank for, and what technical issues it encounters. Most businesses have GSC installed but use only the Performance report. Our digital marketing agency India team uses GSC's full feature set as the primary diagnostic tool for every organic search engagement.
The Performance Report Deep Dive
The Performance report's default view hides as much as it reveals. The most valuable analysis: filter by Country to isolate Indian vs global performance; sort queries by Impressions to find high-impression, low-CTR keywords (your biggest opportunity for title tag improvements); identify pages with high average position (3–10) that are candidates for content improvements to push them to page 1.
Index Coverage and URL Inspection
The Index Coverage report is the first place to look when a page isn't ranking despite good content. Common issues surfaced here: noindex tags left from development, canonical tags pointing to the wrong URL, pages blocked by robots.txt, redirect chains preventing indexation. The URL Inspection tool provides the definitive answer: is Google indexing this specific URL? If not, why? Our web development company India team uses this as the baseline diagnostic for every technical SEO issue.
